How to get your personal style, clothes that fit you perfectly and make you feel like a rock star?
I have no idea since, I’m not you! However, I am a fashion designer by trade and I can help you out a little bit by sharing what you should not wear according to your body type. How does this play into minimalism? Knowing what not to wear and buy will save you a lot of money, time and closet space in the long run.
Keep in mind that body type definitions are really broad and everyone’s body is different, so these tips are pretty general. Ultimately, just focus on items that look good on you, make you feel great and fit you well, those are the ones you will have the most wear out of.
Without any more chatter, here is a list of clothes that certain body types should avoid.
If you are tall and lean, you should avoid most classical business cuts, because those can make you seem boxy and a lot larger.
If you are petite, you should avoid oversize items as they can make you look like you borrowed clothing from someone much larger and even like clothes just swallowed you alive. Short and stocky people (like myself) should avoid these to, as we tend to appear shorter and heavier than we are.
If you are curvy, you should avoid tight revealing items as they can make you look larger than you are Good tip is to mix tight, revealing items with soft and flowy items for effortless glam. You can pull this look so well (you lucky ass )
Again, body type definitions are a really broad and you should form your style the way it feels best for you. Next time you find yourself shopping for new clothes, try and test these advice for yourself to see what works best on your body.
